ABDULLAH AL-WAZZAN

Abdullah Al-Wazzan works across film, art and entrepreneurship—creating space for stories, experiences and designs to unfold with clarity and intention.

He is a film director, screenwriter, a visual artist and an Architecture degree graduate. Al-Wazzan created the animated short film "Falafel Cart" (2019), which was officially submitted to the "92nd Academy Awards", making it the first short film from Kuwait to ever be submitted to the "Academy Awards". Al-Wazzan has won and been nominated for numerous awards, most notably winning Best Short Animated Film at the 2021 Burbank International Film Festival in California and being officially selected in 2020 as "best of the world" at the prestigious Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan.
